Laura Eckert’s characters deal with states of human existence, both physical and mental. Their wood and stone sculptures almost never consist of one piece. They are preferably made from old boards, planks and beams from refurbishment objects and are composed of sections.
Laura Eckert sagt: „So entstehen Arbeiten, die unvollkommen und in Auflösung, gleichsam in der Formung begriffen sind. Sie geben ihre Struktur preis.“
